Atkins Diet: Low Carb Breakfast - not necessarily like Mom made

I deal with the question by a viewer who like I was sick of eggs and bacon, and was looking for alternative breakfast items.
My criteria for a good low carb breakfast is:
* has to be quick to make
* has to be easy to make
* has to provide enough nutrition for morning activities and mid day exercise
I also suggest the valuable step of prepping for breakfast the night or the week before by chopping the vegetables or cooking the meat beforehand to expand your options. With that in mind, there are countless options for the 5-minute or less breakfast meals.
I highlight my favorite 5:
* Taco or Fajita Salad
* Low Carb Stir Fry
* Sausage Broccoli Quiche
* Upside Down Low Carb Pizza
* Pancakes and Syrup

But what reasoning …
But what reasoning are you thinking this heart attack is going to happen? Certainly not recent medical studies that show one’s lipids panels are better on low carb high fat diet like Atkins than the Standard diet or the low fat diet. Or on my blood work - which has shown dramatic drops in trig., total chol., LDL levels, Blood Pressure, Heart Rate, and corresponding increases in HDL and overall health.
So what are you basing your statements other than opinion?

Taco part of the salad is the seasoning. I usually made some up ahead of time of salt, pepper, chili powder, cumin, paprika, and garlic powder.
Konjac Shirataki noodles are allowed. I found them to be a bit fishy smelling, but I know others who swear by them.

What is a taco salad? Where’s the taco? What do you use to replace the taco part?
Another question, I heard of these Japanese (I think or Korean)noodles that are made from yam root. Shirataki noodles that have 0 carbs,calories,fat etc… Basically, they say it has no nutritional value but it fills you up. They also have a tofu version. It’s supposed to take on the flavor or whatever you throw in it. What do you think?

It depends on what phase of the diet you are on. Don’t make the mistake to believe that the Diet is just Induction. During Induction, that fruit and all fruits are definitely off limits or not allowed.
After the first 14 days or when you progress to the Ongoing Weight Loss phase, you progress through the rungs and increase your carb count until you stop losing. That may or may not be high enough in your case to eat that fruit. In final Maint phase,you should definitely be able to eat it.

Yep, I agree with quotidianlight. I checked online (never had it myself) and a cup of it (which is probably a lot) is 66g and 9g of fiber. (54g net carbs) It would definitely be a latter rung of OWL item.

I am trying to prevent the same mistake in my kids. Being a parent is rough as the culture and advertisers tells you to be healthy, you need to be loaded with sugar. I certainly didn’t know any better up until a few years ago.
