Atkins Diet: Why am I not losing? (Part 1)

In this video, I deal with another viewer comment on why do people not lose weight or suffer weight loss stalls / plateaus. The first answer is “is it really a stall?”, “Have you lost any inches not just pounds?”, and “Have you not lost in more than 4 weeks?” If you satisfy these above question, this video is for you.

Here is list of reasons that I go into in this video:
1.) Eating too many carbs (hidden carbs / underestimating)
2.) Undereating - starvation mode dieting
3.) Dehydration
4.) Overeating
5.) Too little exercise
6.) Stress
7.) Food Sensitivities / Candida

    I would start sooner rather than wait. It may affect the weight loss in the first 2 weeks, but long term it should have no change. Remember the weight loss in the first two weeks is only the first step in the Atkins journey.

Assuming you have and have not seen changes, what does a daily or weekly menu look like? How many carbs per day? Are you tracking it in a place like Fitday? If not that is my first suggestion.     I truly believe in that. i mean there are hormones involved, like insulin, etc. and losing weight if different from losing fat. on ketosis you tend to lose fat an preserve lean mass, on a non ketogenic weight loss program theres much more loss of lean mass, because the body is programmed to burn glucose only, very few glucose can be obtained from fat, but a lot of glucose can be obtained from protein.

    Congrats on taking the action to get healthy. I can’t explain it all in 500 character reply, but I did make two videos on just this topic. Watch my first two Induction videos and that should tell you what the rules of Induction are and what foods and how much you can eat per day. As for how long, Induction only needs to last 14 days, but the Diet in total lasts the rest of your life in some form. It really is a weightloss journey not a quick fix.

    That is not entirely true. It is not simply a Calories In - Calories Out equation. Weightloss never is. It is especially true on Atkins as your burn more fat and lose less lean body mass than on any other diet.

    You should work out at the amount per day you can without injury. If that’s 1 hour or 10 minutes, do that. 1 hour without injury is better than 10 minutes.

    As for being 180 by May, you should really watch my “How much will I lose on Induction?” video. It addresses this very question on I need to lose this much weight by this time.

    Okay, I know I just asked this same exact question yesterday but…I did an hour of high intensity interval training yesterday and I only lost 1lb. Now, I understand all of the things you said before. So, should I keep doing 10 minutes until I begin to lose 1lb a day so I know I’m back on the right track? Sorry, it’s just I really want to get down to 180 by the end of May (I weigh 237 now). Please respond. Thanks.
